The most delicate leopard print that you’ve ever seen. We are lucky to have two pairs of Hanae Mori clips in our collection. Those one we call minimalistic leopard, the others are Zha, zha, zhu butterflies.
Hanae Mori was the first Asian designer invited to the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture. She started her fashion house in Japan in 1951 and, by 1965, became the first Japanese designer to show in New York. Her clothes were worn by Grace Kelly, Nancy Reagan, and Bianca Jagger. When we talk about Japanese fashion, we always mention Kenzo or Miyake, but Hanae was the first one:
“When Kenzo, Kansai Yamamoto, and Issey Miyake were all students of design, they used to visit me frequently at my studio,” Mori said in a 1982 interview.
She closed her house in 2004.
Good vintage condition. No signs of use.
