Versatile necklace by the French fashion house Nina Ricci. There are visible signs of age, with plating worn away in some areas. In vintage pieces, however, this often adds character and can look particularly appealing.
The house was founded in the 1930s by Maria “Nina” Ricci and her son, Robert Ricci. It became known for its refined, romantic femininity.
After World War II, Robert Ricci became one of the key figures behind the Théâtre de la Mode, a remarkable miniature fashion exhibition launched in Paris in 1945. At a time of material shortages, haute couture was presented on small-scale mannequins rather than live models.
