Lot 186: Vintage Rigaux Ring

A sculptural vintage statement ring by Rigaux France (La Tribu Rigaux).

The oversized round top is made from natural coconut shell. The ring is adjustable. The actual diameter is 19 mm / 0.75 in, approximately US size 9. Diameter of the coconut part is 5,5 cm. 

Rigaux France grew out of a family-run French jewelry workshop founded in 1982 by Sylvain and Nicole Rigaux. The company later evolved into La Tribu Rigaux under their son Franck and his wife Katia, becoming known for oversized statement jewelry combining sculptural metalwork with natural materials such as coconut, horn, wood and leather.  Their designs combine organic textures with clean modern forms.

In 2000, Bijoux Rigaux evolved into La Tribu Rigaux, with a studio in Bourron-Marlotte near Fontainebleau. The jewelry was sold in around 400 boutiques across France, as well as in dozens of international stores. Rigaux’s designs also attracted the attention of fashion houses and designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Louis Scherrer, and Marcel Marongiu.
