Lot 146: Vintage Rose Pendant

This pendant made of biscuit porcelain from the year 1979 (it’s written on the other side).

You may not have heard of this type of porcelain, but you’ve almost certainly felt it. It’s an unglazed porcelain with a subtly rough, velvety surface.

An unusual material requires unusual care. Like a stubborn child, it doesn’t like being washed. Water should not be used—it won’t help. To remove stains, gently rub the surface with a dry melamine sponge. To get rid of fingerprints, place the piece in cornstarch overnight.

Good vintage condition.
